Chase Brandon Clower, 21, has been charged with driving while intoxicated after a car accident Friday morning.
The Abilene Police Department responded to the crash around 1:45 a.m. near mile marker 285 on I-20.
The police department had received just a few minutes before the crash that a Dodge pickup truck was driving the wrong way on I-20.
Another driver tried to avoid Clower's truck but lost control and flipped his jeep.
The Abilene Fire Department had to extract the driver from his car and he was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in serious condition.
He has been treated and released.
Clower allegedly fled the scene but drove by again and hit an unoccupied police car, causing minor damages, and fled the scene.
He was eventually stopped on East Stamford Street where he was arrested after failing his sobriety tests.
