You may have witnessed something no one has ever seen before in the sky over Abilene Monday.

The largest number of C-130J aircraft ever flying in a fleet demonstration.  The J-model C-130 is slowly replacing all of the older C-130s that the Air Force has been flying.

There are currently 17 J-models in the 317th Airlift Group.

The planes are faster, quieter, can fly higher, and carry more cargo than older models.

The formation did air drops, which they practice most everyday.
