PASADENA, Texas (AP) -

A Houston-area house fire has killed a couple and left a firefighter slightly hurt.

Investigators say the blaze broke out shortly before dawn Friday at a home in Pasadena.

Pasadena fire Chief Lanny Armstrong says the fire appears to have been accidental. Authorities believe the fire started in the back of the house. No cause has been determined.

A coroner identified the pair who died as Charles Lewis and his wife, Phyllis. Officials say the woman called 911 but the call went dead as the house burned.

A firefighter suffered a back strain. Her name and further details on her condition weren't immediately released.
