A former co-owner of the Abilene Gold Exchange was indicted Thursday on four counts of falsifying or failing to enter in tax records.

Charles Camp, 71, was charged in December 2012 after Abilene police executed a search warrant at the business.

Police were investigating Camp and co-owner Marcus Cass for allegedly not following Texas law in reporting transactions.

Officers said Cass pulled a gun on them – and they shot and killed him.

Camp is also charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, a federal offense.

A Taylor County grand jury indicted Camp Thursday for the tax charges, which date back to 2010 and 2011.
