The Abilene Preservation League has teamed up with the Swenson House to bring visitors a scary good time this Halloween. This weekend is your chance to have your own hair-raising adventure.
"Ancient Egyptians coming to life, vampires, werewolves, uh you'll see a guy being executed right before your eyes," said Clu Burnham with the Abilene Preservation League.
The Swenson house will host their annual Haunted Abilene event Friday and Saturday. It may look horrifying, but the screams are for a good cause. Proceeds from the “Dead and Breakfast” haunted house benefit the Abilene Preservation League. The Preservation League protects historic buildings in the city.
"There are a lot of old buildings here in Abilene and if somebody doesn't take a hand in taking care of them they're going to disappear," said Burnham.
In addition to the haunted house there will also be a haunted trolley tour leaving from the Swenson house. Tickets to the haunted house cost $10, tickets to the trolley ride are $12 and combination tickets can also be purchased for $20. You can purchase tickets at www.hauntedabilene.com or by calling 325-676-3775.
