The founder of a large Texas bank who is also a wealthy political donor has accused state troopers of harassment during traffic stops, and says the problem goes beyond his family.
    
IBC Bank CEO Renato Ramirez said Friday the head of the Texas Department of Public Safety has arranged to speak with him about the allegations. Ramirez says one trooper verbally abused and aggressively questioned his 13-year-old granddaughter and his son, who is a president at the Laredo-based bank.
    
The allegations surfaced this week when Democratic state Sen. Judith Zaffirini mentioned them to DPS Director Steve McCraw at a public hearing. McCraw said he wanted to see dashcam video.
    
Records show Ramirez has given more than $50,000 to state Republican and Democratic candidates since 2000, including Zaffirini.
