Julie Phillips is the morning meteorologist at KTXS News. She is a Chicagoland native who joined the KTXS weather team in July of 2010. She attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla., where she majored in both meteorology and broadcast journalism.
While in school, Julie was very active within UMTV, the university's student-run television station. During her senior year, she was the weather anchor for Newsvision, an award-winning student newscast.
She interned at WPLG, the ABC affiliate in Miami. While there she decided that broadcast meteorology was the career for her. She completed her second internship working with Chief Meteorologist David Bernard at WFOR, the CBS affiliate in Miami.
Julie is a huge Miami Hurricanes football fan and rarely missed a game while in school. She is excited to cheer on the 'Canes during the football season from Abilene. Her sorority, Delta Delta Delta, was a huge part of her college life, and she served as chapter president. She loves working out, cooking, relaxing at the pool and having fun with friends and family.
