A power transformer may be to blame for starting a small fire that knocked out electricity to KTXS and other parts of Abilene.
As of 7p.m., AEP Texas is reporting 1,426 customers without electricity in Taylor county.
The fire also knocked out KTXS' transmitter around 6:20p.m. on Monday. This prevented our signal from being broadcast at our studios off of North Clack, near the Taylor/Jones county lines.
Our on-air signal was restored just after 7p.m.
