ABILENE, Texas -

Tony Barker and Benny "Meatball" Bartek have been bringing live music and musicians to Abilene for 10 and a half years, but they never expected it to last this long.

"Honestly, I thought 10 years ago when we started this that tonight I would be busy accepting my third Grammy award," said Barker.

"We just couldn't stop the crowd just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger," Meatball added.

Many musicians in the area got their start at Strawberry's, the bar where Barker and Meatball have hosted their acoustic jam for five consecutive years.

"The jams have been full of all kinds of musicians of all calibers playing all genres. We've had the experienced and the inexperienced," said Meatball.

For Barker and Meatball's acoustic jam event Thursday night was the finale, but the musicians won't stop playing anytime soon.

"Tony and I both have other projects in the works and we've got to do other things, so we got to let this go," said Meatball.

Meatball will be playing with the Frayed Knot band and Barker will be playing with an Elvis cover band and a country band.
