Republican candidate Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, who's running in the Republican runoff for U.S. Senate made a stop in Buffalo Gap Saturday.
Dewhurst said he's been traveling all around the state to ask Texans to vote for him over his opponent Ted Cruz.
Around 7 p.m. Dewhurst met some of his supporters at Perini Ranch.
Dewhurst said he thinks Texans should vote for him because of his track record.
"I'm a lifelong small business man. I started a company from nothing. I created a lot of jobs. I've balanced a budget. Mr. Cruz hasn't created jobs and I don't think he understands how to move our economy forward. I've balanced five straight state budgets without raising taxes made a lot of enemies in the process. A lot of people didn't want me to do that, but I did that. That was the conservative thing to do and Mr. Cruz hasn't been in business, hasn't balanced budgets." said Dewhurst.
Dewherst's opponent, Ted Cruz, has said he has a six-part plan to create jobs.
Cruz says he plans to repeal Obamacare, kill cap and trade, end the moratorium on offshore drilling and cut corporate taxes.
