A man who was hit by a train and died early Saturday morning was decapitated.

According to the Callahan County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened at about 5 a.m. Saturday.

Bobby Beard, Baird city marshal, says the 34-year-old man - who is not being identified - was lying on the tracks behind the train depot in Baird ? about 20 miles east of Abilene ? when he was hit.

Authorities are still investigating. The man's body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
