Marathoning for Miracles: hitting the pavement for a good cause
Marathoning for Miracles is a fun event that benefits the Hendrick Children's Hospital.
This year's event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Taylor County Expo Center.
Although there are lots of ways to donate to the Children's Hospital, this event is a little different.
According to Jason Seekins, Marathoning for Miracles committee chair, it's more than just offering your money; it's really an offering of yourself.
"You're not only giving a few dollars, you're going to walk a few miles or run a few miles and have a great time doing it," said Seekins.
You do not have to be a marathon runner in order to participate.
There will be four different events, including a Kids' Fun Run, which is appropriate for the whole family.
Drawings for prizes will take place during each event.
Each runner will receive a shirt and a finisher's medal.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Children's Hospital to purchase specialized equipment and other items needed to care for young children.
The deadline to register for the event is this Sunday, Oct. 14.
