Friends and family of a Madison Middle School teacher who died last weekend will take time to celebrate his life at a memorial this Friday.
The memorial service for Stan Hicks, 61, will be held at the Red Dirt Pavilion in Buffalo Gap, a pavilion that Hicks and his wife created because of his love for music.
The service will begin at 6 p.m. Friday.
Stan Hicks, 61, taught social studies at Madison Middle School. He was a 20-year veteran who was scheduled to retire from teaching in two weeks at the end of this school year.
Hicks died Saturday in a car accident on a country road off Highway 277 southwest of Abilene.
