Motorcyclist dies after losing control on curve in Tye
A motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon after he lost control on an access road in Tye.
According to the Department of Public Safety, 53-year-old Kenneth Pier of Sulpher Springs crashed on an Interstate 20 access road near mile marker 277 around 2:26 p.m.
Troopers said he was not wearing a helmet and he left the roadway, overturned and landed in a ditch. Pier was pronounced dead at Hendrick Medical Center.
His body was taken to McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
