The Nelson Splash Pad has shut down its fountains for the season.
The last day the splash pad was open was Sunday, Sept. 30. It will reopen in late April 2013.
Assistant Director of Community Services Lesli Andrews said the splash pad was closed because of cooling temperatures.
The Nelson Splash Pad opened on Aug. 4. It is located at Nelson Park near the Abilene Zoo and Fort Imagination.
The splash pad has 26 features and can accommodate up to 250 people.
