The National organization 'Nation of Patriots' passes through Abilene as a part of the Patriot tour.
There's one American flag that passes nearly every state in America with one goal in mind: raise awareness and donations for wounded veterans.
For years cities across the U.S have been competing to see who can raise the most money for the Nation of Patriots organization.
On Monday, beginning at 10:30 a.m., Abilene residents are encouraged to come watch as this traveling flag makes an appearance at Kent's Harley Davidson.
Although Kent's is usually closed on Mondays, they are making a special effort to open up for the community to join in on the benefits of this event.
Donations are encouraged and can be given both at Kent's and online at the Nation of Patriots website- www.nationofpatriots.org.
Last year, more than $10,000 was raised. This year, the NOP board is looking to increase that number--by $40,000.
Americans are encouraged to donate and raise $50,000 to help support those families that in need.
Kent's will be open until 2 p.m. and Kent's Harley Davidson is located at 3106 South Clack St.
