ABILENE, Texas -

One man was arrested Monday night after Abilene police said they chased him on foot. His partner is still on the run.

According to police, officers tried to stop a speeding vehicle on South 14th Street around 11:15 p.m. Monday.

Police said when the driver finally stopped the car, he and his passenger tried to bail on foot.

Police chased the pair and said they found one man hiding in the backyard of a home in the 1600 block of Woodard Street.

The driver, 27-year-old Randall Martin, was arrested for evading detention and for possession of a controlled substance.

Police said they found a pipe containing methamphetamine in the vehicle.

The other man, the passenger in the vehicle, has not been found.

Police described him as a Hispanic male wearing a white tank top.
