Officials say the pilot of a twin-engine plane has died in a fiery East Texas crash during a flight from Houston to Oklahoma.
    
Department of Public Safety Trooper David Hendry said Tuesday that the pilot was alone on board. The victim's name wasn't immediately released.
    
The Federal Aviation Administration said searchers Monday night found the Cessna 421 wreckage in a field near Wells, about 140 miles northeast of Houston.
    
The plane was en route from West Houston Airport to Tulsa Riverside Airport when contact was lost around 9:30 p.m. Monday amid possible bad weather.
    
Records show the plane is registered to H-S Air LP in Broken Arrow, Okla. A man who answered the phone Tuesday would not provide his name, declined to answer questions about the accident and hung up.
