Police say a man has confessed to killing his ex-girlfriend in Houston and trying to bury her body hundreds of miles away in a West Texas oil field.
Houston police said in a statement Monday that 37-year-old Mark Augustin Castellano was facing a murder charge in the death of 31-year-old Michelle Warner.
The statement says the woman was last seen Sept. 22 and was reported missing by family members who said she disappeared after an argument with Castellano.
According to police, Castellano told investigators Sunday that he drove their 3-year-old son to Odessa in West Texas before returning to retrieve the body from her apartment. Investigation say he told them he drove back to the Midland-Odessa area and took her body to an oil field.
Castellano doesn't have an attorney yet.
