A male suspect is dead after police shot him while checking a drug complaint at a southwest Dallas apartment complex.
The shooting happened about 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Mountain Valley Apartments between Loop 12 and Mountain Creek Lake dam.
Dallas police Sr. Cpl. Melinda Gutierrez said two undercover officers went to the complex and bought drugs from two suspects, who then tried to rob the officers.
Gutierrez said backup officers swooped in to help, a suspect showed a weapon and shots were fired, killing one of the suspects.
No identities have been revealed.
