A San Angelo man is now charged with the murder of his wife, who died in 2008 in what was originally thought to be an accident.

San Angelo police have arrested 49-year-old Frederick Mueller on Monday and charged him with murder.

This follows a long investigation into the death of his wife, Dr. Leslie Mueller, who was an obstetrician and gynecologist who practiced in San Angelo.

She died from what was originally believed to have been a fall while hiking on land they owned in Colorado. A Colorado district attorney now says Leslie Mueller died from drowning.

An arrest warrant was issued for the husband, and he was picked up Monday.

An extradition hearing for Frederick Mueller will be held Wednesday.
