ABILENE, Texas -

The storms that crept across the Big Country on Thursday left behind significant rainfall totals.

Rain totals were near 3 inches and brought flooding to the western areas of the Big Country.

Street flooding occurred in San Angelo, Colorado City, Snyder and Abilene Thursday.

The heaviest rains fell in Mitchell and Scurry counties, where 2.88 inches fell in Snyder and 2.85 in Colorado City.

The official toital in Abilene was .89 of an inch, although a number of Fire Department stations and Dyess Air Force Base recorded from .9 to 1.16.

More showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected for especially Friday afternoon as the upper level low moves through our region. Rainfall totals will likely be lower for Friday.
