Suspect in Michele Reiter's death now faces a charge in Brown County
A new, separate charge has been filed against a man who sits in Tom Green County Jail and who is suspected of having something to do with the death of a Brownwood woman.
A Brown County judge issued a warrant involving online impersonation for Lanny Bush, 53, who has been identified as Michele Reiter's ex-boyfriend. Reiter was reported missing Sept. 11 and her body was found two weeks later in Coleman County.
Currently, Bush is in the Tom Green County Jail on a charge of Online Impersonation in that county. Bond has been set at $20,000. He's also being held for parole violation.
This new charge of online impersonation -- out of Brown County -- carries a higher bond of $200,000.
Because Bush appears to be the No. 1 suspect in Reiter's disappearance and death, it's possible he will be moved to the Brown County Jail at some future time.
Reiter's body was discovered in Coleman County. She lived in Brownwood (Brown County), and Bush was living in Tom Green County.
If murder charges are filed against Bush, they could be filed in any of those counties.
