Recent rains have provided enough moisture for Taylor County to continue without a ban on burning, county commissioners decided Tuesday.

Commissioners made the decision after discussing recent rain totals across the Big Country -- and whether a ban was needed -- with rural fire firefighters.

Commissioner Chuck Statler said even though current conditions don't warrant a burn ban, commissioners will be keeping their eyes on the situation.
