Texas Tech University now has a brand new building at the Health Sciences Center Campus in Abilene.
The ribbon cutting for the new nursing facility, located at 1674 Pine Street, was held Friday morning. Before, the school had a program but no building.
"Abilene has always been a strong supporter of TTUHSC, and this new facility is an example of the community's commitment to health care education," said President Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D.
They needed a place to house the growing student population.
There are currently 100 students enrolled and the school is expecting another 65 this fall. It is anticipated that the school will have an additional enrollment of 104 students by 2015.
