ABILENE, Texas -

For the last 13 years most people looking for jobs in Abilene went to the Workforce Center in the Taylor County Plaza behind the courthouse, but that could change soon.

Taylor County is not renewing their agreement with the agency.

Now the Workforce Center needs a new place to operate.

A new location remains to be seen.

The Workforce's Board met on Wednesday to narrow down their choices.

Some on the short list: the old Wal-Mart on Judge Ely, the old Winn Dixie near K-Mart, or a vacant spot also on Judge Ely near EN 10th.

Workforce Solutions also said Taylor County leaders chose not to renew the lease for their current spot.

KTXS called Taylor County and they said they're making renovations to the courthouse and need the space that Workforce occupies in the meantime.

For now you can still find Workforce Solutions at the Taylor County Plaza.

It could take six to seven months before a final decision and ultimate move is made.
