Storms hit much of the Big Country Thursday, but they were really just the start of some heavy rainfall expected through Saturday night.
A slow-moving storm system off to our west and abundant moisture in place brings the potential for flooding rains through Saturday.
Thursday we saw some decent rainfall totals, but are expecting them to be much higher and more widespread on Friday and Saturday.
Abilene Regional Airport got .86 inches of rain and Dyess received .38 inches.
Sweetwater saw about a tenth of an inch of rain.
Snyder clocked in at a quarter of an inch.
Eastland and Maryneal both saw around 3/4 of an inch of rain.
Breckenridge received .4 inches.
By Saturday night our southern counties are expected to receive an additional 2-4 inches of rain!
Across the rest of the Big Country expect more in the 1-3 inch range.
