An area of high pressure is forecast to build over our region this weekend. This should bring mostly clear skies and 100 degree afternoon temperatures to our region by Sunday.
We are also tracking a developing low pressure area in the south central Gulf of Mexico. This could become tropical storm Debby over the weekend. Some of our weather forecast models are taking this system east over Florida on Monday. Others are drifting it west towards the Texas coast early next week.
If it does move our direction, we could see some clouds and possibly slightly milder temperatures for the the later part of next week.
Otherwise, look for mostly fair skies, dry and hot weather over our region for next week. Highs should be around 100 each afternoon with lows in the middle 70s into Friday.
Be careful if you have to be out in the heat. Drink plenty of water and try to do your "hard" outside work in the morning before the heat sets in.
If you are allowed to water, try to give your plants and lawn a good soaking of water to prepare it for this hot and dry weather.
