A truck driver's delivery was delayed after he hit a curb in a North Abilene parking lot and punctured his fuel tank.
Firefighters said the driver was heading into the Lowe's parking lot near Interstate 20 and State Highway 351 around 11 a.m. when he hit the curb.
Gallons of diesel fuel spilled into the parking lot and a portion went down a nearby storm water drain; however, the drain led only to a pond and the leak was quickly contained.
An environmental officer with the Abilene Police Department was called to the scene.
Peat was used to absorb the diesel fuel.
