UPDATE: The Texas Department of Public Safety tells KTXS alcohol may have played a factor in deadly dirt bike accident Saturday morning.

DPS said 39-year-old Sammy Ken Castillo was driving east on County Road 4114 when he lost control of his bike.

He swerved off the highway and then overturned. Castillo was not wearing a helmet.

He also had no motorcycle license and his bike had no headlights.

ORIGINAL STORY: A motorcycle driver was killed in a one vehicle crash early Sunday morning, according to the Department of Public Safety.

The driver Sammy Ken Castillo, 39, was driving east bound on County Road 4114 and north of County Road 4129 in Scurry County. 

At the intersection of County Road 4114 and County Road 4129, the driver lost control and the vehicle left the roadway and overturned.

Castillo was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was taken to Wright Colonial Funeral Home in Snyder, Texas. The road was dry and the weather was clear. Castillo was not wearing a helmet.

This crash is being investigated.
