There continues to be good news on the Abilene employment scene.
The number of unemployed fell in August by more than half a percentage point. The August rate came in at 5.8%. It was 6.4% in July.
The Texas Workforce Commission says the state unemployment rate in August held steady from July at 7.1%
Midland has the lowest unemployment rate, 3.8%
The commission says job growth rate in Texas has grown for the past 28 consecutive months.
