An Abilene man was arrested Friday after police allegedly found nearly two ounces of marijuana in his backpack.
Police contacted 23-year-old Matthew Castillo walking on Arnold Boulevard around 11:55 p.m. and said they could immediately smell the odor of fresh marijuana coming from his backpack. When asked if he was in possession of anything illegal, Castillo allegedly admitted he had two ounces of marijuana.
After a search, officers said they found 1.9 ounces, or 155 grams, of marijuana in Castillo's backpack.
He is charged with class B possession of marijuana. He posted bail within 24 hours of his arrest.
