Abilene man indicted for allegedly impregnating teen
An Abilene man was indicted Thursday after allegedly impregnating a teenage girl.
According to police, 27-year-old Jesse Mendoza had sex with a 13-year-old girl June 3, 2012.
Mendoza allegedly told officers he knew the teen from an apartment complex pool but that he had never visited the girl’s apartment or had sex with her.
The victim gave birth in February and authorities said the infant’s DNA sampled matched Mendoza’s.
A Taylor County grand jury indicted Mendoza on an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge Thursday.
