AT&T has officially taken its cell phone coverage to 4G LTE. The company announced the upgrade Tuesday.
Earlier this year AT&T slated Abilene for LTE upgrade, along with 49 other U.S. cities. The release simply said Abilene would be an LTE market by December 31.
The upgrade means smart phone users, who have LTE compatible phones, will see dramatically faster speeds with their email and Internet access.
You may have noticed the LTE symbol at the top of your phone before. Company spokesmen say they were testing that new equipment, and now it's ready to be activated.
