2 arrested following prostitution stings in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas - Abilene police arrested two people Tuesday for their roles in multiple prostitution investigations.

According to arrest reports, at about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, a sting was conducted to catch a prostitute at a hotel in the 1500 block of E. Stamford Street. The report says 28-year-old Miranda McDaniel agreed to perform sexual acts for an undercover officer for $200.

Police also found marijuana with McDaniel, and they learned she had an active warrant from Dallas County for prostitution. She was arrested for prostitution, possession of marijuana, license required, and the prostitution warrant.

In a separate prostitution sting, police told the front desk clerk at a hotel in the 3000 block of Catclaw Drive that the operation would take place. The clerk, 21-year-old John Brady Pair, then went to the room that the officer referenced and alerted the prostitution suspect of the planned sting.

The sting failed, and Pair was arrested for interference with public duty. He was booked into the Taylor County Jail and released on a bond of $750.

McDaniel remained in the Taylor County Jail with bonds totaling $4,205.
