Abilene, Texas - The Abilene Community Theatre brings 'Greater Tuna' star Jaston Williams to town for a major fundraising event to help benefit the community theater. Williams will be making his Abilene debut for a performance of his one man show: An Evening with Jaston Williams-A Life Full of Laughter Saturday.
The show features the Greater Tuna playwright, creator and star Williams which is a poignant tale detailing his life growing up in Texas, and his life traveling the world performing the Tuna plays.
Jaston Williams is best known for his four Tuna plays Greater Tuna, A Tuna Christmas, Red White & Tuna and Tuna Does Vegas which he has performed for over thirty years. He is a 2013 recipient of the Texas Medal of the Arts and is a previous winner of the Texas Governor's Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts by a Native Texan
Williams will be performing on Saturday May 4th at 7:00 PM at the Paramount Theater located at 352 Cypress Street in downtown Abilene. Ticket are already on sale, general admission tickets are priced at $25. Patron tickets are $40 and include priority seating and admission to a reception with Mr. Williams. Tickets may be purchased in advance by contacting the ACT box office Monday through Friday 12pm-5pm by phone at 325-673-6271 or in person at 809 Barrow Street. Tickets will also be available the day of the show at the Paramount.
All the proceeds will go towards the Abilene Community Theater.
