Abilene man, 28, arrested for continuous sexual abuse of a child

ABILENE, Texas - A 28-year-old Abilene man has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Joseph Joe "Jo Jo" Siedl was arrested at about 10:40 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of Lytle Acres in Abilene.

"He (Siedl) was arrested at the conclusion of an investigation into two reported cases of abuse, where female victims were known to the suspect," a Taylor County Sheriff's Department news release said.

"The first abuse incident began approximately three years ago, while a second victim reported incidents from earlier this year, all occurring at a residence north of Merkel."

According to court documents, the first alleged case happened between January 2012 and May 2015. The second case was reported in June.

Siedl works for the Abilene State Supported Living Center. According to documents, the victims in the investigation are not residents at the center. The Department of Aging and Disability Services told KTXS Siedl is on emergency leave and is not allowed on campus until a decision on his employment is made.

Siedl is being held in the Taylor County Jail. His bond was set at $100,000.
