ABILENE, Texas - A Clyde woman is charged with two counts of theft in connection to a stolen car and money embezzled from an Abilene business.
According to court documents, 40-year-old Ramona South knowingly used a hot check to purchase a 2008 Tahoe from an Abilene business in December 2011.
After the check bounced, she promised to pay for the car, but allegedly did not.
South was also a bookkeeper for an Abilene business and allegedly transferred funds of about $20,000 to $100,000 from her boss's bank account to her own account from Jan. 11, 2011 to Dec. 31, 2011. She also allegedly used two company credit cards for her own benefit, according to court documents.
South was booked into the Taylor County Jail Monday. As of Wednesday, she was being held on bonds totaling $150,000.
