Wylie senior surprised by brother at graduation

ABILENE, Texas - Hundreds of Wylie ISD seniors and their families packed into Abilene Christian University's Moody Coliseum Friday for a graduation ceremony and one senior was surprised by someone he hasn't seen in years.

Wylie High School Quarterback Tyler Ward, 18, had not seen his brother Johnathan for two years, until Friday.

"I was ecstatic, two years is a long time," Tyler Ward said.

Johnathan Ward has been stationed in Okinawa for two years with the United States Air Force. He repairs and maintains fighter jets.

Johnathan made the trip to share a heartfelt reunion with his brother.

"It's been two months in the making, so it is a long time coming and was definitely worth it," Johnathan said.

Johnathan plans to continue his career with the Air Force, and Tyler said he will continue to play football.
