ACU football player accused of sexually assaulting intoxicated woman at party

Majok suspended by team

ABILENE, Texas - An Abilene Christian University football player accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman at a party has been suspended.

Abilene police arrested Deng Lual Majok, 20, on Monday for second-degree felony sexual assault. He’s being held in the Taylor County Jail on $25,000 bond.

“Majok, a walk-on student-athlete in the ACU football program, has been suspended from all team-related activities pending the outcomes of both the judicial and university conduct system,” Lance Fleming, ACU associate director of athletics for media relations told KTXS. “We take these situations seriously and are dedicated to building athletic teams who positively reinforce our mission."

According to the arrest report, Majok and the victim went to a party around 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 6. The victim, also 20, said she got sick after drinking too much alcohol and eating a marijuana cookie. After throwing up, she went to lay down in a bedroom at the house where the party was held.

She told police that Majok came in and started having sex with her, but she was “unable to fully understand what was occurring due to her state of inebriation.”

At some point she realized what was happening and the victim told Majok to stop and “shoved him off her.”

Majok told police he knew the victim got sick after drinking too much, but he believes she wanted to have sex with him.

Majok was a freshman defensive back for the Wildcats last season. He was named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll in the fall.
