ABILENE, Texas - Taylor County and Brown County offer their residents weather warnings and other emergency alerts delivered by telephone. But you must sign up to receive them.
Taylor County - including the city of Abilene - uses the CodeRED emergency system to alert the residents of the county.
Brown County - including the cities of Brownwood and Early - uses the DeltAlert emergency system for notifications.
When emergencies are declared, everyone who has signed up will receive an automated phone call alerting them to the emergency - including Tornado Warnings.
It is imperative that residents sign up for this service – which costs you nothing – but may someday save lives.
