ABILENE, Texas - Child Protective Services and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice are investigating a TDCJ investigator's role in a fight between two girls in the backyard of his north Abilene home.

Ronald Wagman’s job with the Office of Inspector General-TDCJ is in limbo after a cell phone video surfaced on social media that shows him encouraging his daughter and another girl to fight.

KTXS contacted TDCJ which said Wagman is on administrative leave pending a review.

“The conduct displayed on the video is not representative of the expectations that the Office of Inspector General has for its employees either on or off duty,” OIG-TDCJ said in an email to KTXS.

The video is one minute and 36 seconds long and shows Wagman in a gray T-shirt watching the two girls throw punches, kick each other, pull hair and roll on the ground.

In the video, Wagman can be heard saying “Take her down” and other words of encouragement to his daughter. About a minute and 13 second into the video, Wagman shoves the other girl towards a fence.

The Abilene Police Department looked into the case and then turned it over to CPS.

KTXS spoke to Wagman at his home. He declined to speak on camera, but said he will share his side of the story once the investigation is complete.

KTXS will have more on this story on KTXS News at 5 and 6 p.m.
