Severe weather has spawned a tornado that damaged several homes in rural Central Texas while storms in West Texas dumped hail the size of tennis balls.
Abilene Fire Department officials say three people outside for a children's parade suffered minor head injuries from hail Thursday night. Hail also broke out windows in some vehicles in Abilene.
The National Weather Service says a tornado tracked across Burnet County on Thursday night. The twister touched down near Briggs and traveled southwest toward Bertram.
Burnet County Emergency Management Coordinator Jim Barho says a roof was torn off one house and another home was lifted off its foundation to about 150 yards away. He says minor injuries were reported and nobody required medical attention.
