DPS says Eshete was driving a 2011 Freightliner truck towing a semi-trailer on westbound I-20 when it crashed into the back of a 2014 Peterbilt truck pulling a semi-trailer.

According to DPS, the second truck was driven by Henry Stephen Peek, 58, of Canyon Lake.  Peek wasn’t injured in the crash.

The accident occurred while Peek was passing a parked 2016 Freightliner 18-wheeler.  Its driver – Paul Elliott Coilton, 52, of Oakland, California – had pulled over on the north shoulder of I-20 on the westbound side, DPS said.

The crash remains under investigation.
