(AP) - A man who police say was speeding away from a wreck was killed and his 6-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries after their station wagon crashed into a Fort Worth garage.
Police spokeswoman Sharron Neal says the man died after being taken to the hospital following the Friday afternoon wreck. She says the 6-year-old suffered no significant injuries.
A MedStar spokesman says the child was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Neal tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram ( ) the station wagon driver was believed to have driven away from a wreck about a half-mile away that injured a pickup driver.
Officer James Williams says the station wagon driver kept going at a high speed until the vehicle crossed a median, hit a fire hydrant and went airborne into the garage.
