ABILENE, Texas -

The Grapevine Farms Wine and Music Festival was in full swing Saturday in Abilene.

The festival was a crowd-funding campaign where attendees could taste wine and pitch in to help feed the hungry in the community. The event also featured food trucks and a showing of the movie "Food, Inc."

The non-profit organization works to end obesity while informing the public of healthier food options. They also plan to fight hunger through donations and volunteers.

"So what we're doing is we're trying to devise a way to grow affordable food for people to eat and have a place in town where people can come and work and take food away from and use their labor," said Paul Thomas, the director of Grapevine Farms. "If they don't have a job, they can come work at the farm and they can take enough food, you know work a whole day and take enough food for a week."
