Tickets to the WesTex Connect 4th of July Fireworks Show are going fast.
"They're going like hotcakes this afternoon," said Rodney Amonett, General Manager of WesTex Connect.
Amonett said the price of the tickets is worth it. It takes about three to five hours of hard work for every choreographed minute of the show.
"It's a slow process but a rewarding experience when it's done," said Amonett.
The show is a full 30 minutes. He said most shows are only half of that.
Equipped with a brand new sound system firing at 60,000 watts, he promised an experience like nothing else.
"You can feel the shells burst in your chest so to speak," said Amonett.
Chief Engineer for Cumulus Broadcasting Chris Andrews said the music for the show will be broadcast over three radio stations, Classic Rock 102 'The Bear,' Today's Hit Music Power 103, and 99.7 KBCY.
"When you hear a drumbeat in the music is when you're gonna see the shells pop," said Andrews. "It's really cool to hear and see it at the same time."
That means you don't have to be at the park to enjoy it.
"Those people that may be watching from over at the Coliseum or on the road they can actually hear the music while they're watching the fireworks they don't have to be just right here," said Andrews.
Amonett said it's the ticket sales and sponsors that keep the show going year after year.
"All that help is what makes it possible," said Amonett.
He hopes everyone comes out for some family fun.
"Get here and have fun!" said Amonett. "Bring your lawn chairs and your blankets."
