(AP) - The Houston mother of a missing 3-year-old girl is facing charges of injury to a child and tampering with evidence.
KHOU-TV reports (http://bit.ly/19MrxJ3 ) that Sabrina Maria Deleon appeared in court Saturday.
The charges are in connection with her missing 3-year-old daughter. Investigators say Deleon told an acquaintance she threw her child's body in the trash after she died.
Deleon is already in jail after being accused of driving under the influence with her 6-year-old child in the car. Child Protective Services spokeswoman Gwen Carter says a CPS worker assigned to the case "became concerned" that Deleon was lying about the whereabouts of her young daughter.
