KTXS announces anchor and news management changes
KTXS has named a new news director, and a longtime anchor will join Wayne McCormick on the 10 pm.
Jason Goodwin, the current assistant news director will now head the department.
Current news director and 5 pm anchor George Levesque is taking on the duties as 10 pm co-anchor and managing editor.
Albert Brown, KTXS vice president and general manager announced the changes will be effective June 17th.
Jason started his career as a newscast producer at stations in Oklahoma City, Tampa FL, and New York City. Prior to joining KTXS, he served as an executive producer in Tulsa. “KTXS has had a long commitment to the viewers in Abilene, Brownwood, and all parts of the Big Country. I look forward to leading a great team of professionals who believe in getting the facts right, and tracking storms,” Goodwin said.
Braid Blanks will move from anchoring KTXS News at 10 to the 5 pm newscast to spend more time with her family. She will continue to anchor KTXS News at 6 with Wayne McCormick.
Braid is an award winning journalist and a hometown girl born in Abilene and a graduate of Abilene Christian University.
George Levesque, who has served as KTXS news director since 2007, will become managing editor. He will be joining Wayne McCormick as 10 pm anchor. “George has been an outstanding leader for KTXS News and now he will be able to use that same leadership to KTXS News at 10,” said Brown. Levesque will continue his role as anchor of KTXS News at Five. George is a Colorado City native who graduated from McMurry University.
KTXS is also adding a new meteorologist to the team. Anthony Domol will start June 24th. He is a graduate of Michigan State University; he later went to Valparaiso University in Indiana where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
KTXS is the ABC affiliate serving the Abilene, Sweetwater and Brownwood area and the only high definition station in the Big Country. The station is owned by the Bonten Media Group.
