Ex-Hamlin Police Chief Ray Moseley was sentenced to probation during September 2014 after facing a state felony charge of theft by a public servant. According to the Jones County District Clerk's Office, Moseley pleaded guilty Sept. 4, accepting a deal for probation and a fine. Moseley received four years probation and agreed to surrender his professional law enforcement license. He was also given a $1,000 fine, $299 in court costs and 120 hours of community service.
